Hi everyone! As those of you who read my blog know, I have been going through the process of decluttering my home. I know that makes it sound as if there is an end point to this. I have not experienced the end point yet, so I'm not sure there is one!
I decided since I have so many nice things, and I don't really want to give all of them away, I would open a vintage shop on Etsy. If they don't sell then I can always give them to Salvation Army. I will still have plenty of things for Salvation Army. I am only going to sell relatively small items so I won't have any shipping nightmares!
So I hope you will stop by my new shop, Among The Ruins Vintage and have a look-see! I will be adding many more items as time permits.
The man in the banner in my vintage shop is none other than Jack Benny. I was very fortunate to have met him back in 1973. I was a freshman in high school when he came to his home town of Waukegan to play for the inaugural concert of the newly formed Waukegan Symphony Orchestra, where I played violin. He was amazingly talented and extremely funny. He never cracked a smile the entire time we were with him! But we sure did!
I took some years off when I had my daughter, but I am currently playing in Waukegan Symphony. If you look very carefully on the left side of the picture, that tiny head with the dark hair is me! Just a bit of my personal "vintage" for you to enjoy.
